We’d been in line for what seemed like an awfully long time to get up an apparently quite small staircase. Yes, it was narrow, but it wasn’t long and people seemed to be making the business of ascent far more time consuming than required. I snapped away taking pictures and waited, and eventually we got through. Can you imagine receiving a letter saying that any debt you had has been cancelled, written off, you’re free? For some people in America this autumn that’s exactly what happened. The Occupy movement used donations to but up debt on the financial markets for a fraction of it’s value and then sent letters out to say the debt had been cancelled; 2,600 people, owing over fifteen million dollars, were set free from the chains of debt. I was talking to a friend the other day and she told me that she had been driving and had her first blow out. I was concerned so naturally asked if everything was okay and what she had done; everything was fine, she’d gotten to the side of the road and phoned her dad. Korea has been in the news a lot this past year. First Psy decided to invade music charts, and minds, everywhere with the song Gangnam Style and now the tensions of the peninsula are being ratcheted up by bellicose rhetoric from the North.
